Kathy Ireland Home by Therapedic is off to a hot start
Kathy Ireland Home by Therapedic is off to a hot start, according to Therapedic President/CEO, Gerry Borreggine.
“The introduction has exceeded our most optimistic projections,” said Borreggine. “We have a waiting list of retailers who want to take on the line,” he added.
The favorable response has been across the country, according to Borreggine. The line is selling well in the Illinois, and Oklahoma in the Mid-west; in Virginia and New Jersey on the East Coast; in Alabama is the South; and in Denver in the West.
Only half of the Therapedic licensees are producing the line at this point in time. “It takes time for a factory to prepare its manufacturing process in order to make this line,” said Borreggine. This is because the Kathy Ireland Home line has several exclusive features built into the new product.
The factories that are not making the line, yet, are in queue to do so as soon as possible, said Borreggine. “By the end of the year, every Therapedic domestic factory will be producing Kathy Ireland Home,” said Borreggine. “We have a full company ‘buy-in’ for this program,” he said.
Among the exclusive features of the new line are:
- An alternating offset coil design to eliminate side to side motion on the mattress
- Foam encased construction for stronger edge support
- An exclusive 7-zone comfort foam that is anatomically designed for head-to-toe comfort
If first impressions are any indication, the line is a bone fide hit, according to many of the Therapedic sales managers.
“I’ve opened twelve of the first fourteen dealers I presented this line to,” said Niles Cornelius, COO of Therapedic Mid-Atlantic.
“In addition, we are not placing the line at any dealer who does not commit to six or more models of the new line,” added Cornelius. “This is the first time that dealers are calling me to add my product, and not me calling them,” said Cornelius.
“Kathy Ireland Home is selling strong everywhere I’ve placed it,” said Dennis Greer, VP of Sales at Therapedic Oklahoma.
The most exciting aspect of the new line is how it is being received by retailers, said Borreggine.
“We can hype it or spin it anyway we want,” said Borreggine, “But, the proof of the pudding is how the product does on the retail floor.”
“If this auspicious debut is any indication, Kathy Ireland Home by Therapedic will be the hottest line on the street by the year’s end,” Borreggine said. |
